So just a little background on my hair! I'm 19 and have naturally dirty blonde hair. A few years ago I went through a little bit of a rebellious/idiotic stage in which I compulsively dyed my hair every color of the rainbow. I first dyed it a really beautiful dark brown and received so many compliments. From there on, I had to change it all the time. I was obsessed.
I had only dyed my hair once at this point and I loved it. Looking back I regret ever cutting/dying it. It was so long and healthy :( I then decided that I would try blonde. Being the oblivious teenager I was, I thought it would be a good idea to head over to my local Sally's and bleach it myself. Here's a little tip to anyone with virgin hair, PLEASE GO TO A PROFESSIONAL!!!! It took me years and a foot of hair to realize this. I knew nothing about toner and came out with hair similar to the Simpson's skin tone!
As you can see, I had made a terrible mistake. Luckily for me, my hair hadn't suffered too bad. I went back to Brunette and left it alone until I saw a gorgeous picture of Ariana Grande. I was in love! (With her hair color, not her…. OK maybe her a little.) I went a bright ass red. I actually liked it a lot.
After I got pregnant, I decided I needed to look more like a Mommy though and tried to go back blonde. I liked the color, I learned to tone, but the light shade never went with my skin tone very well. I looked very washed out and after stripping and bleaching (yes at home ugh), I was back to brownish, reddish, blondish gross. I chopped all my hair off and here I am, crying like a baby that my hair isn't long and one color like it used to be.
I have no current photo of my hair because I am absoluetely disgusted with it.
So now I am planning on keeping it healthy, growing it down to my waist, and going to a salon to get a nice brunette, with highlights :D
My husband, being the hippy that he is, is on this journey with me.
My hair is currently at it's longest, 9 1/2 inches - one foot.
I am not going to dye my hair so I can keep a clear record of how long it has grown.
This is my husband, Steveoh's current hair. We just took this, isn't he smashing? ;)
This is what is famously known as the "Awkward Stage." It's unfair how his hair just grows like a weed plant. Like in a garden, not marijuana, we might live in Colorado but none of that!
This is his goal and the last picture he took before he made the big cut! :O
So currently we are taking 5,000 mcg of Biotin everyday, with lots of water! The brand we are using is Kroger… Cause we are cheap.
So far I haven't seen any growth in my hair (it's been only a week though) but it's felt very healthy and not as dry. Steveoh hasn't noticed anything (he's king of spacey though) and the only thing that is happening is that we are breaking out a little. I have heard that it is the toxins in your face being released, but who knows, those people could just be high. There are no clinical studies that say that human hair grows faster (correct me if I am wrong please!) but I have found a study with rats saying that they showed an increased growth of hair.. I will attempt to find this link.
I am also trying the inversion method (I will include direction in another post) and this was my first night with it. My hair is very oily!
So we are going to eat burritos but I will be sure to post tomorrow! Thanks for reading :)
